The terms and conditions detailed on this website do not affect your statutory rights according to the United Kingdom law.

We will maintain your privacy and safeguard the personal information that you provide us with. We are committed to your privacy.

The Classic & Contemporary Cake Co. will only use information that we collect from you lawfully in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

We may from time to time email you with news about new products and special offers. If you do not want to receive such information please inform us at the time of your enquiry.

Products

All of our products and packaging are subject to availability. We reserve the right to change or substitute without prior notice. This will only occur in extreme circumstances and substitutions will be of equal quality and in keeping with the order you have made. Changes may be made without notice due to the time constraints involved.

We will however make every attempt to inform you of any changes or substitutions that are necessary.

All our muffins, cakes and cake favours are produced on premises where nuts are used and may contain nut traces.

Our gluten free muffins will never be substituted with any regular muffin.

All our products are baked fresh to order and come direct to you shortly afterwards. We do not use unnecessary preserving agents.

We therefore recommend that to enjoy our muffins at their best they are eaten on the day you receive them and in any event no later than three days after delivery.

Other cake products are able to be enjoyed for up to 7 days after delivery as long as they are stored in cool, dry conditions.

Delivery Area

Our Mail Order Muffin delivery service is available to England, Wales and Scotland*.  We regret that we cannot arrange delivery to the Channel Islands or Northern Ireland. 

*Deliveries to certain parts of Scotland attract a higher delivery charge by our couriers, UK Mail.  When making an order for delivery to Scotland please contact us first as there may be an additional charge.

Our normal delivery charge is included within the price we charge for each box of muffins.

Celebration Cake products are available for collection from our premises only.

Wedding Cakes can be collected from the premises or set up at the venue of your choice for a supplementary cost, subject to distance of the venue from our premises and subject to other existing commitments. These matters can be discussed with Sonya during the selection and booking process.

Order and Delivery for Mail Order Muffins

All our Mail Order Muffins  will be delivered by UK Mail.

Orders received by 5pm Monday to Thursday, with the exception of Bank Holidays, can be processed and dispatched during the next working day. Our aim is to ensure that our product reaches you within 48 hours of you placing your order. This is the fastest turnaround time available so we recommend ordering your muffin selection well in advance.

The Classic & Contemporary Cake Co cannot accept liability for late deliveries.  We will however, endeavour to ensure that this does not happen but have no influence over our appointed carrier.

If there is no-one available to receive the package, UK Mail will leave notification of when and where it can be collected.

It is the recipient's responsibility to re-arrange delivery with UK Mail as appropriate.

The Classic & Contemporary Co. accepts no liability if the delivery is not made due to the recipient being unavailable or if the goods ordered become unsuitable due to the non-delivery.

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that provide the correct delivery information. Please check that the postcode and the address are recorded correctly when placing an order.

We cannot accept liability for late or non-delivery due to incorrect delivery details given.

Payment Online For Mail Order Muffins

All payments will be processed by PAYPAL.

The debit and credit card details accepted by us are detailed through a trusted website. 

We will debit the whole price of the goods from your preferred payment card at the time of the order.

We have the right to terminate our agreement with you if payment is declined.

In order for the payment process to run smoothly, the address details are required of the credit/debit card holder. This will then be used to validate the order.

Incorrect details given will result in delaying the process of your order. 

In an unlikely event that your payment card is used fraudulently to pay for an order with The Classic & Contemporary Cake Co., you the customer are entitled in accordance with the 'Consumer Protection Distance Selling Regulation (2000)' to have all sums returned to you by the card issuer.

Payments for Wedding Cakes

A minimum of 8 weeks notice is usually required for wedding cakes.

In order to secure a date for us to provide your wedding cake we will require an initial deposit of £50 at the time of ordering.  This is a non refundable payment.

8 weeks prior to the date the cake is required we ask for 50% of any balance still owing.

We will require the remaining balance at least 14 days prior to the date that the cake is required.

If any money is still outstanding after the agreed dates we will not produce the cake unless prompt action is taken by the customer to make full payment.

Cake bases, stands and separators are loaned to Wedding Cake customers free of charge although a security deposit is taken to ensure safe return of tach item.  It is the responsibility of the customer to return the items back to The Classic & Contemporary Cake Co. within 72 hours of the Wedding date.

Celebration Cakes

All Celebration cake orders can be secured with a 50% deposit at the time of ordering and the remaining balance either cash on collection or cheque at least 10 working days prior to collection date.

We will try our best to meet any short notice order but will require payment in full at the time the order is placed. 

Order Acknowledgment

All orders will be acknowledged by email or in writing to confirm order details.  

Personal Messages

We respect that all personal messages you send via the mail order muffin service are private. We do not disclose this information to anyone other than the intended recipient of the muffins.  

We do, however, reserve the right to reject and withdraw any message we may consider might offend, be racist, abusive, indecent, obscene, menacing or in breach of confidence to the recipient.

Your message will be copied (hand written) onto a gift card exactly as it is written during the order process by the customer.

Returns

We take great care to ensure you gift order is dispatched in excellent condition. If when it is received you are unhappy with its condition or for any reason you are not entirely satisfied please contact us immediately.

You can return it to us at your own expense within seven working days of dispatch, giving details of what was unsatisfactory. Please include photographic evidence where ever possible to illustrate the issue you have.

Refunds will be provided by us for items returned to us.  In the event that we provide the customer with a full refund this will be our only liability.  We will not consider  or pay compensation under any circumstances.

Please ensure that proof of posting is obtained.

Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive which can be found at www.hmso.gov.uk

Cancellations

If, for whatever reason, you need to cancel your order, you may do so at any time up until two full days before the requested delivery date.

A full refund will be given.

If you have  think you have cause for complaint in respect of any aspect of our service to you please contact Sonya to discuss your issue(s) and we will attempt to resolve the matter on an amicable and reasonable basis.
